WF Trickster (Merlot)

15.2hh appaloosa/gypsy cob cross
Sire: John Brodie
Dam: TC Colidas Chardonay

One of our homebred horses.
Merlot has competed in show hunter, showjumping, dressage and eventing.
He has taught many riders, from total beginners to taking riders to their first competitions, from the age of 6yrs old to to 77yrs old.
Although he can be on the lazy side... he LOVES jumping!

Wake Field Golden Girl (Lucy)

14.3hh crossbred mare

Lucy came to us pregnant, and after foaling and months off being ridden... she was so easy and quiet to bring back into work we decided to keep her.
She did a season in showjumping and eventing and now has quiet a few ribbons to her name including a 1st place at her first ever showjumping and winning both the dressage and over all in her 2nd time eventing!!
As mush as she did well at the lower levels, and had an awesome jump on her...she was just too quiet and relaxed to move up the levels. So she fitted in perfectly with our Wake Field team!

Wake Field Queen of Hearts (Sav)

13.3hh Wake Field pony
Sire: Wake Field Heartbreaker
Dam: Wake Field Dancing Queen

Sav is one of our homebred ponies, 3rd generation on both sides!
Beautiful willing nature and loves her little students. She has done pony club, show jumping, games, dressage and showhunter. Just a super cute little pony that loves her job.

Wake Field Tricksey

14.2hh Gypsy cob cross
Sire: Wake Field Trickster
Dam: Wake Field Sapphire

Tricksey is another one of our homebred ponies and Merlot's daughter. Just like her father she loves jumping!! Super quiet and safe with her nervous riders (and a beautiful trot to sit too), but will wake up when jumping. Tricksey has done dressage and show jumping and is the lazy boy of barebacking!!
She is now having time off to be a mum, and we are very excited to see her baby!

Raccon

16hh clydesdale cross

Raccon is a gentle giant. More woe then go and perfect for our more nervous riders. Even though he is totally blind in one eye, he still enjoys the odd jump, and if your lucky you might get a canter out of him! His preferred gait is walk, but will happily trot around if you motivate him.

Lansdowne Just Puzzled (Puzzle)

16hh Paint/TB cross gelding

Puzzle is for are slightly more advanced students wanting to do the basics of competing in dressage, showjumping and eventing. Very honest jumper and beautiful easy canter. As a bonus he naturally rounds up, even in a halter, so gives his rider a great introduction to competition without the extra energy most performance horses have.

Wake Field Just Cruising  (Cruiser)

14.1hh Kaimanawa gelding

Wake Field got Cruiser straight out of the wild as a 6yr old stallion from the 2018 muster. This boy has been amazing from the start, only 3 days out of the wild and he was asking for scratches and allowing us to put a rope on him!! (Hence his name).
His reaction to anything is to stop and think about it, which can be a problem if you want to go fast, but Cruiser is fantastic with children and just likes to take everything quietly.

Sassy

13.2hh Wake Field pony
Sire: Wake Field Heartbreaker
Dam: Wake Field Sapphire

Sassy is another 3rd generation Wake Field pony on both sides of her family. She is the youngest on our team, but just LOVES people, and is a dream with kids. She is more like a puppy than a pony and teaches our youngest, smallest riders. Her nature is so relaxed that our students broke her in and was used in our clinics before she had even cantered! (with her foal at foot happily following along).

My Midnight Star (Flicka)

14.1hh bush pony mare

Flicka is our newest pony who is in training. She is a beautiful sensitive little thing who has just started her career in dressage and jumping. She does love her cuddles! As we get to know her and she progresses we will slowly bring her in to lessons for our more confident students who want to start competing.
