Hayley-Grace Davis is the Owner/Manager/Trainer on site and breaks in and trains all of Wake Fields ponies/horses. She does everything from foal handling to breeding mares with our stallion to competing Wake Field’s youngsters. She currently competes our stallion Wake Field Heart Breaker who she trained from a foal and is now competing the 5 year old at level 3 Regional Dressage.
Hayley-Grace does offer lessons with some of our horses/ponies on the property and can also help you with your own horse.
Lessons with our horses/ponies at Wake Field are one on one, with the focus of teaching the client all the ground work and riding skills needed to own your own horse. We have a very limited number of spaces for these lessons so bookings are essential.
Hayley-Grace has competed in a number of different equestrian disciplines including the Kaimanawa Stallion Challenge (taming/training a wild stallion and compete them at Equidays in 5 months), Regional Dressage, A&P showing, showhunter, showjumping and low level eventing. With her best achievements winning champion hunter at the appaloosa nationals on a mare she had taught to jump only 3 months prior, 2nd place in the 5yr old Championship at the Waikato Regional Dressage on her stallion and winning a 1st for best manners in an open, all ages class at Horse of the Year with another young stallion. Hayley-Grace has a passion for producing and training quiet, well mannered youngsters, whilst maintaining a competitive edge.
Hayley-Grace prides herself in being able to train both horse and rider with natural horsemanship techniques and dressage movements. Safety of both rider and equine partner is her top priority in all aspects of training while focusing on making the animal WANT to work for you, rather than HAVE to. This creates a great, all important relationship between horse and rider. She specializes in float training, young/green horses and halter breaking.
Hayley-Grace does take on outside horses for training and provides lessons (on either our horses or your own) for:
Dressage
Show Jumping
Show Hunter
Eventing
A & P Showing
Pleasure Riding
Beginner/childrens lessons are also available.
