Owner/Manager/Trainer
Hayley-Grace Davis has been riding and training horses since she was young, and has been lucky enough to turn her passion into a full time job in her adult life. She started the Wake Field breeding program in 2009, and with the help of her family completed a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Entrepreneurship and Small Business and Management while starting up Wake Field Equestrian Estate's facilities in 2010.
Her foundation training is in natural horsemanship with her main instructors being Ken and Jane Dromgool and has fortnightly dressage lessons with internationally renowned instructor/trainer, Bill Noble. |
Hayley-Grace has competed in a number of different equestrian disciplines including Regional Dressage, A&P showing, showhunter, showjumping and low level eventing.
Her best achievements...
-Winning champion hunter at the appaloosa nationals on a mare she had taught to jump only 3 months prior
-Winning a 1st for best manners in an open, all ages class at Horse of the Year with one of her young stallions.
-Competing in the wild Kaimanawa stallion Challenge (taming/training a wild stallion and compete them at Equidays in 5 months)
-Breaking in and training her breeding stallion, with wins in level 4 dressage, wins and placings in ever pre-training eventing start including registered 2DE, 90cm Showjumping, 2nd in the 5yr old championship at the Waikato regionals and even won a fun cowboy challenge... with the stallion only being 13.2hh and competing in the open sections. (Against very big horses)
Hayley-Grace has a passion for producing and training quiet, well mannered youngsters, whilst maintaining a competitive edge.
Hayley-Grace prides herself in being able to train both horse and rider with natural horsemanship techniques and dressage movements. Safety of both rider and equine partner is her top priority in all aspects of training while focusing on making the animal WANT to work for you, rather than HAVE to. This creates a great, all important relationship between horse and rider. She also specialises in float training, farrier preparation and halter breaking.
